Purist eau de vie is 100% noble fruit distillate, superb fruit brandy, obtained by separate distillation of each fermented fruit used, apple, pear and plum.

Just as Purism does not believe that returning to nature signifies copying of nature, so too we do not believe that the quality of the raw material, in this case fruit, is the only prerequisite for obtaining a quality distillate. To obtain a premium distillate such as Purist, it is necessary to adhere to strict rules in every part of production because each raw material has its own characteristics that must be strictly observed if we want to get a superior product.

PURISM MOVEMENT

Purism comes from the Latin word purus, which means pure. Purism, as art movement, is characterized by the use of simple geometric forms and images evocative of objects produced by machine.

A purist is one who desires that an item remain true to its essence and free from adulterating or diluting influences. Someone who insists on great precision and correctness. Without precision and strict adherence to the rules, it would not be possible to create a drop so noble that the very core of the fruit can be felt in it. All those flavors and aromas that undoubtedly tell us about the raw material from which they were made.

THE 2 CONDITIONS OF QUALITY

Fruit brandies differ widely in quality and composition, depending on the raw material used and the processing procedures. The quality of distillates is mainly defined by the aroma compounds. First condition to obtain quality distillate is that the fruits present adequate characteristics. They must have correct sugar values, possess the typical aromas and be healthy and ripe. Second condition is to carry out the production process flawlessly and that cannot be done without the right equipment and vast knowledge of the subject.

MIGHTY MACHINE

Croatia has a centuries-long tradition in distillate making. One of the most famous and common is plum eau-de-vie. To produce that fine, noble, distillate you need the right equipment. The heart of our distillery is the copper pot still of German artisan Arnold Holstein, specially made for our needs in production of fine distillates. Copper distributes heat evenly and quickly, while allowing vapors to cool efficiently. It performs the very important function of reacting with any sulfur compounds that occur naturally in fruits.

Purist’s main trait is a modern approach to a seriously traditional spirit – blending superb fruit distillates to achieve unique balance of flavors and expressive taste with a lingering finish while retaining expected high alcohol by volume. This basic idea is clearly visible in product design. Showing simple geometric form of copper distilling apparatus with open door, revealing distillation process and blending of distillates. By carefully defining the ratio of produced distillates, we additionally emphasize their most valuable characteristics. At the same time we create and discover completely new flavors that would otherwise be unnoticed in the original distillate.
