The larger the belly of the beaker, the larger the area of ​​distillate that is vented. The smell becomes more intense, the aromas of the fruit grow, but so does the alcohol vapor.

The diameter of the opening of the glass determines how much dissolved aromas and alcohol vapors can be immediately lifted into the nose. If the opening is narrower, we will feel less alcohol vapor, but also less fruit aroma. With a larger opening, you will feel more subtle shades of distillate. Those will be the ones that the dominant alcohol has pushed against the very wall of the glass.
