Purist is a 100% noble fruit distillate, made by separately distilling each type of fermented fruit we use: apples, pears, and plums. The defining feature of Purist is a modern take on a seriously traditional spirit – blending noble fruit distillates to achieve a unique balance of aromas and a pronounced flavor while maintaining the expected high alcohol content typical for this kind of drink.
Just as purism does not equate returning to nature with simply copying it, we believe that the quality of the raw material, which in this case is fruit, is only one part of what makes a distillate exceptional. To craft a premium distillate like Purist, every step of the production process must be carefully controlled and executed, respecting the unique characteristics of each fruit variety. Only through strict adherence to these principles can a truly superior product be created.
Purism comes from the Latin word purus, meaning pure. In art, purism was a movement that aimed for refined and simplified geometric forms, inspired by the mechanics of machines. A purist is someone who insists on absolute respect for traditional rules or structures, with great precision and accuracy. Without such precision and strict adherence to rules, it would be impossible to create a drop so noble that it captures the very essence of the fruit – all those flavors and aromas that unmistakably tell the story of the raw material from which it was made.
Fruit distillates vary greatly in quality and composition depending on the raw materials used and the production process. The quality of a distillate is mainly defined by its aromatic components. The first condition for producing a quality distillate is that the raw fruit must have the right characteristics: proper sugar levels, typical aromas, and be healthy and ripe. The second condition is to carry out the production process flawlessly, which requires proper equipment and extensive expertise.
Croatia has a centuries-old tradition of distillate production. One of the most famous and common is plum brandy, but producing a fine, noble distillate requires the right equipment. The heart of our distillery is a copper still made by German master Arnold Holstein, specially modified for our fine distillate production needs. Copper distributes heat evenly and quickly while allowing vapors to cool efficiently. It also performs an important catalytic function by removing sulfur compounds naturally present in fruit.
The defining feature of Purist is its modern approach to a seriously traditional spirit – blending noble fruit distillates to achieve a unique balance of aromas and expressive flavor while maintaining the expected high alcohol content typical for this kind of drink. This core idea is clearly reflected in the product design, which depicts a simple geometric shape of a copper distillation apparatus with open doors, revealing the distillation process and blending of distillates. By carefully defining the ratios of the produced distillates, we further highlight their most valuable characteristics while also creating and unveiling entirely new flavors that would otherwise go unnoticed in the original distillate.
Purist is best served slightly chilled and neat in a fine tasting glass with thin walls and a tulip flower shape.

Less than a month after its market launch, Purist won its first quality award. Scoring 92 points, Purist earned a silver medal for quality at IWSC 2021, the world’s most influential competition for strong alcoholic beverages, competing against over 4,000 entries.
